Paws 4 Peace Sanctuary: Our Story Paws 4 Peace Sanctuary was founded on the belief that the bond between humans and animals is a powerful catalyst for profound healing. Based in Washington State, our organization is dedicated to creating a safe haven where people and animals can support one another through life’s most difficult transitions. Our Mission We provide a therapeutic environment that fosters recovery and resilience. By connecting individuals—particularly those seeking a fresh start—with rescued animals, we facilitate a unique journey of mutual rehabilitation. At Paws 4 Peace, the goal is simple: healing at both ends of the leash. What We Do Animal-Assisted Therapy: Engaging with animals to reduce stress, build empathy, and improve emotional well-being. Community Service Programs: Offering structured opportunities for individuals to give back, specifically through our community service setup designed for youth and those navigating the legal system. Rescue & Rehabilitation: Providing a permanent, loving sanctuary for animals that have been neglected or displaced. Educational Outreach: Teaching the community about responsible animal guardianship and the science behind the human-animal bond. Our Leadership The sanctuary is led by Geraldo Leslie, Founder and Executive Director, alongside Co-Founder Sarah Corey. Together with a dedicated board of directors—including Faye Reynolds and Beth Montrowy—our team brings a wealth of passion and professional expertise to the mission of animal welfare and social advocacy. The Vision We envision a world where no animal is left behind and no person feels they must face their struggles alone. Through our 12-month operational plan and the development of our dedicated facility, we are committed to building a sustainable, heart-centered organization that serves as a cornerstone of peace for our community. "To provide a sanctuary where the spirit can heal, and every paw finds its purpose."
